Credit union members from across the country have selected Gail Lewis, Director of Consumer Lending/Credit Manager for 121 Financial Credit Union as the Credit Union Hero of 2015 according to Credit Union Magazine.
Lewis was one of three nominees selected from around the country for this award. Her work for 121 Financial Credit Union and her work throughout the community were the reasons she won.
A t 121 Financial, her primary responsibilities include managing consumer and indirect lending and developing staff. But she is also active in the community conducting financial education workshops and seminars at churches, schools and community agencies, much of it involving financial education for the youth.
She is an adjunct instructor at Florida State College of Jacksonville; she teaches financial counseling for the Credit Union Education Program; she is involved in the education committee for the Northeast Florida Chapter of Credit Unions; and she volunteers at the Job Corps.
“We are extremely proud of Gail for her work, especially with financial education, not only for our credit union members but for all she does for the Northeast Florida community,” said Bruce Fafard, President and CEO of 121 Financial.
