Credit union to open full-service branch in Five Points Village and growing retail hub
Community First Credit Union, a full-service credit union based in Jacksonville with membership open to anyone who lives on the First Coast, announces it has signed a multi-year lease to open its newest expansion location in the recently re-built Five Points Village in Riverside. Located at the corner of Margaret and Post Streets the center will be the credit union’s 18th branch and its first in the growing Riverside neighborhood.
Exterior and interior improvements will start in the first quarter of 2015 and the credit union expects the branch to open in May 2015. When complete, the branch will be 3,000 sq. feet. The credit union expects to employ at least three full-time team members at the location.
The Riverside branch of Community First will be a new design for the organization’s facilities. Community First plans to use the branch as a test site for advanced technology and innovations in member services. Concepts, programs and projects are still in development.
“We are looking forward to serving the Riverside, Brooklyn and Avondale areas with this innovative new neighborhood branch,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First “The demographics include a rapidly growing millennial population who is looking for a home branch and are the early adopters of new technologies in their daily lives.”
Community First Credit Union has made strong commitments to community-related activities and lifestyle-enhancing projects in Riverside including sponsoring events and activities at the Riverside Arts Market and The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.
In addition to the opening of the Riverside branch, Community First Credit Union will continue the expansion of its branch network in 2015 and beyond, including adding a 19th branch and other improvements and expansions to existing branches.
