Scribe Solutions acquired, new leaders positioning for growth

scribe solutionsJacksonville-based Scribe Solutions, Inc. has been acquired by publicly-traded Chicago-based staffing firm General Employment Enterprises, Inc., according to a company announcement today.
The acquisition positions General Employment and Scribe Solutions to grow significantly, with three prominent Jacksonville business success stories leading it.
Derek Dewan will become General Employment’s chairman and chief executive officer. He is currently Scribe Solutions’ chairman and CEO. Alex Stuckey, president at Scribe Solutions, will become president and chief operating officer of General Employment. He will also serve as COO at Scribe Solutions. Scribe Solutions founder Mary Claire Menze will be Scribe Solutions’ president.
“This allows us to have a platform to grow Scribe Solutions by being better funded, having more resources and the ability to grow both organically and via acquisition within the U.S. and perhaps abroad,” Dewan said. “Keeping our leadership team in place will enable us to offer even higher levels of customer service throughout our expansion.”
Dewan was instrumental in building AccuStaff, later MPS Group, from its formation through the financing and merger of the four independent companies into a billion-dollar global brand in the professional staffing industry. In 1994, he took the company public in a $22 million initial public offering. In 1995 and 1996, Mr. Dewan led the successful secondary stock offerings of $110 million and $370 million respectively. He served as chairman from 1994 until Adecco Group, the world’s largest staffing company, acquired it in 2009, in a $1.3 billion transaction. Under his leadership, AccuStaff made the Wall Street Journal’s “top performing stock list” for three consecutive years. He was previously managing partner at what is now PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Stuckey created the fire protection business Fire Fighters Equipment Co., growing it from startup status to multi-million-dollar annual revenue as well as double-digit net profits. He sold it to S&P 500 Company Cintas in 2009. Prior to launching Fire Fighters,  Stuckey worked at Barnett Bank as a special asset officer where he handled large non-performing/non-conforming commercial loan portfolios.
Menze started Scribe Solutions in 2008, and grew it very quickly. Scribe Solutions expects more growth based on the increase in electronic documentation of medical records in today’s health care industry. She previously worked in sales for XPress Technologies.
“Since day one, our passion and a solid business plan have directed our growth,” Menze said. “We have renewed passion and new resources to continue what we do best.”
Dewan expects, with his leadership team and the resources of General Employment Enterprises, that General Employment and Scribe Solutions can emulate the same success track he had with AccuStaff and MPS Group.
“Scribe Solutions expects to grow very quickly, with strategic acquisitions and enhancement of our service offerings in the near future,” Dewan says. “We’re working to become the next MPS Group, a global leader in our niche.”
After consummation of the transaction, General Employment Enterprises’ chief executive officer Andrew Norstrud will return as its chief financial officer.
