Burdette Ketchum Hires New EVP of Client Leadership

Barbara KarasekBarbara Emener Karasek has joined Burdette Ketchum as executive vice president of client leadership, bringing more than 20 years of expertise in brand management, global marketing and organizational leadership to the agency. A senior marketing executive, Karasek has a proven track record in business development, brand positioning and integrated marketing communications.

Karasek will serve as the agency’s lead for account management and client relationships, integrating all marketing disciplines and services.  As a key member of the agency’s core leadership team, she will help to identify business-building opportunities for clients to ensure their success and growth.

Throughout her career, Karasek managed functional areas such as corporate partnerships and alliances, licensing and consumer products, media, experiential marketing, brand and consumer marketing, digital, mobile, e-commerce, and business-to-business initiatives. In her roles, Karasek led integrated marketing efforts and business development relationships with companies such as Amazon.com, American Express, AT&T, Barclays, CBS, Coca-Cola, Ford, General Mills, Google, Hyundai, Lowe’s, Mars, Mattel, Microsoft, Universal Music Group Nashville, and many more.

Most recently, Karasek served as vice president of strategic alliances for SeaWorld Inc., where she developed objectives, brand positioning and business building platforms for business units across the enterprise. Prior to SeaWorld Inc., Karasek served as director of corporate marketing for the PGA TOUR and senior manager of brand and consumer marketing for NASCAR. Karasek has also held senior management positions in agencies and organizations including The Zimmerman Agency and the U.S. Olympic Committee.

A Tampa native, Karasek received a bachelor’s degree from Furman University, where she attended on a volleyball scholarship, was a four-year starter and multiple record holder, served as Team Captain and won a Southern Conference Championship. Karasek earned a master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Florida, who honored her in 2008 with the USF Outstanding Alumnus Award, is a graduate of the strategic marketing management course in HBS Executive Education from Harvard Business School, and currently serves as President of the American Marketing Association chapter in Jacksonville.
