Yovia named Growth Company of the Month

yoviaThe North Florida Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) named Yovia, a “People Engine,” the Growth Company of the Month for September at its monthly luncheon today.

Yovia is the world’s first People Engine, a large community of real people who spread the word about a topic or product. In 2013, Yovia’s revenue run rate grew 100 percent over 2012’s revenue and the company increased its number of employees by 75 percent and grew from 2,000 active beta users to 6,000. The company’s customers include NBC, MTV, Coca-Cola, Toyota and SmartBear Software.

Co-founders Jalali and Tiffany Hartman started the company in 2008 and bring many years of technology and social media experience to Yovia. Jalali is a founding executive of MECLABS, a premiere digital research facility, and has 16 years of technology start-up experience. He formerly co-founded Infopia, one of the world’s first e-commerce platforms. Tiffany is an expert in social media and is instrumental in executing the user-centric growth strategy that has resulted in the exponential growth of Yovia’s user and customer base. She has created and delivered new media and community development strategies for major TV networks, Coca-Cola and more than 100 small and medium-sized businesses.

Yovia attributes its significant growth to its relocation to downtown in 2012.

“We took advantage of the vibrant technology community downtown to refine our product and grow our customer base significantly,” said Jalali Hartman, Chairman and CEO of Yovia. “Now that our technology is live and our revenue is scaling, we expect significant growth through the end of this year and into 2014. We are honored to receive the ACG award but could not have grown without the support of the local Jacksonville community.”

The North Florida Chapter of the ACG presents a monthly Growth Company of the Month award to a regional company that has exhibited consistent, sustainable and profitable growth. The local ACG chapter provides a networking and educational forum for executives, professionals and investors involved in corporate growth. It brings together North Florida’s top business leaders and extends the opportunity to meet and network, exchange deal information and opportunities, share strategies for building businesses and attend insightful and relevant programs.
