Boyer Business Development Consultant, Inc. now open for business at Beaver Street Enterprise Center

BSEC-Boyer Open House - Aug.29, 2013The traditional ribbon cutting ceremony signals a brand new company is on the horizon at Beaver Street Enterprise Center.  On August 29th, at her well-attended open house, Charlene Boyer pledged that Boyer Business Development Consultant, Inc. will be a great asset to the Jacksonville business, civic and philanthropic community.  Demonstrating her gratitude for the privilege of doing business in the incubator, Boyer presented Certificates of Appreciation to Paul Arrington of UNF’s Small Business Development Center, and Beaver Street’s Receptionist/Office Manager Jeania Heppner, Program Coordinator Angelia Redding, and Executive Director Jackie Perry.

Now headquartering in Suite 101 at Beaver Street Enterprise Center, Boyer anticipates helping her clients achieve at least 101% of their business goals!  By combining her vast business experience with a proven record of academic, personal and professional achievement, Boyer has created a consulting firm that will effectively guide small businesses toward success.  “Boyer Business Development Consultant, Inc. is dedicated to getting the job done,” says Boyer, whose compassionate approach, broad analytical skills, and creative problem solving ability has held her in good stead as the founder and owner of several successful businesses during the past thirty years.

“Charlene was one of my able instructors this year at the FAMU-FDOT-Construction Management Development Program,” said Deborah K. Thompson, who facilitates the comprehensive course for small business owners, particularly Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SDBE’s), seeking to develop construction and business management skills.  Approximately twenty business owners attended the 2013 program twice weekly at Beaver Street Enterprise Center from January through April, as subject matter experts chosen by Thompson (DKT Consultants, LLC) guided attendees in creating their business plans, making loan and bond applications, learning how to bid jobs and more.

“Not only did Charlene Boyer teach the business management portion of the prepared curriculum from Florida A & M University, she went above and beyond by acting as a business consultant for several of the students,” said Thompson.  “As a founding board member of Beaver Street Enterprise Center, I encouraged Charlene to consider headquartering her new business at Beaver Street and I’m glad she’s here.  She has an excellent hands-on, caring approach to providing technical and business assistance.”

Team-oriented, highly motivated, and with graduate degrees in several disciplines, including Business Administration, Theology, and Paralegal studies, Boyer is currently enrolled in Novus Law School with a view toward providing legal as well as technical and business counseling for her clients.  Her knowledge of grant writing and success in securing grants for non-profits is one of Boyer’s many strengths as she launches her newest business at Beaver Street.  Future workshops planned by Boyer Business Development Consultant, Inc. include “Ten Tips for Building Your Business,” “Grant Proposal Writing and Resource Development,” “Credit Repair,” “Sales Branding and Marketing,” and more.

“Charlene Boyer’s upcoming workshop schedule is just the type of business building activity the late Michael Bryant of FreshMinistries envisioned for this incubator over a decade ago,” said Jackie Perry, adding that the incubator’s 10th Anniversary Luncheon is scheduled for September 25th, 2013.
