Jacksonville Civic Council selects new Executive Director

MillerToday, the Jacksonville Civic Council, an organization comprised of Jacksonville’s business and not-for-profit leaders, announced that Jeanne Miller has been selected as its executive director.

“Jeanne has deep skills in areas the Civic Council requires,” said Steve Halverson, president and CEO of The Haskell Company and Chairman of the Jacksonville Civic Council. “She is a proven leader with a breadth of experience over her career that makes her perfect for this very important position and I look forward to working with Jeanne on the many important projects the Civic Council undertakes.”

Miller is currently the General Counsel and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Florida State College of Jacksonville and will begin immediately to transition from that role.

“As much as we at the College hate to see Jeanne leave after the years of enormous value she has provided, the position with the Civic Council is a wonderful opportunity for her,” said Dr. Will Holcombe, interim president, Florida State College of Jacksonville. “On behalf of the College, we wish her great success in her new endeavors.”

Miller was selected from a variety of applicants from Jacksonville and outside the area. The search was conducted by Korn/Ferry International, one of the nation’s most successful executive recruiting firms. Jeanne Miller will begin work with the Jacksonville Civic Council on September 30.
