Burdette Ketchum acquires Greenhouse Studio

Burdette Ketchum, an integrated marketing communications firm, today announced a merger agreement to acquire Greenhouse Studio, an agency specializing in animated graphics, online video, and web design and development. Greenhouse Studio, founded in 2008 by Katrin Casey and Greg Wineman, will remain a separate brand from Burdette Ketchum but will move its six employees into the Burdette Ketchum office space.

“With the growth in tablet and mobile use, online videos – many with animated graphics – are the way consumers now get information, including marketing and brand messages. The latest statistics show that more than 38 billion online content videos are viewed in the U.S. each month on sites like YouTube and Facebook,” Will Ketchum, President of Burdette Ketchum, said. “Greenhouse Studio’s expertise in online content puts Burdette Ketchum at the forefront of providing this marketing option to our clients.”

The specialty services of Greenhouse Studio attracted Burdette Ketchum to the purchase, and are why the brand will remain distinct. According to Ketchum, Greenhouse Studio is well respected in digital marketing so keeping it as a “company within a company” will help Greenhouse Studio continue to build its reputation for specialized expertise, while providing them access to the clients, complementary services and resources of Burdette Ketchum. At the same time, Burdette Ketchum will more seamlessly offer high-tech animation and expanded online marketing expertise to its existing client base.

Business partners Casey and Wineman will continue to lead Greenhouse Studio as Managing Director and Creative Director, respectively.

“During the past few months, Greenhouse Studio collaborated on numerous web and video projects with Burdette Ketchum. We enjoy working together and our cultures fit well,” expressed Casey.
“The concept of coming together as a team happened very naturally, so it didn’t take long to decide to join forces.”

The financial details of the deal will not be disclosed. Burdette Ketchum’s capitalized billings are $23 million and the combined companies will increase revenue for Burdette Ketchum by 20 percent.
