Real Estate economist John Tuccillo to speak at industry breakfast

The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), its Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) and the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) will welcome nationally known real estate economist John Tuccillo to its monthly breakfast meeting on Friday, June 14, at the University of North Florida University Center.  The event will take place from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m.  Tuccillo will present an economic market forecast for Northeast Florida during the program.

“John is one of the foremost real estate economists in the United States and I am looking forward to hearing his perspective on the Northeast Florida housing market activity,” said NEFBA President Dennis Ginder, who is also president of Landon Homes.  “This program promises to be very enlightening, and I encourage everyone in our industry to make plans to attend.”

A former chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, Tuccillo is a highly respected business and planning consultant.  His Sarasota-based consulting practice – John Tuccillo and Associates, Inc. – has provided research, analysis, strategic planning and business planning services to clients that include national real estate franchise firms, Fortune 100 companies, mortgage banking firms, media companies and trade associations.

In addition to his position as NAR’s chief economist, Tuccillo’s extensive resume includes serving as the chief economist for the National Council of Savings Institutions; teaching graduate studies at the Catholic University of America; working as a senior research associate at The Urban Institute; teaching courses at Georgetown University as an assistant professor of economics; and working as a Brookings Economic Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Tuccillo has an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and earned his master’s degree and doctoral degree in economics from Cornell University.  He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and maintains an active speaking schedule on topics such as the economic forecast, changes in the real estate industry and leadership.
