Beaches Orthodontics Grand Opening

Dr. David Carden Being Honored at Grand Opening Event October 18

(Jacksonville Beach, FL) – For more than thirty years Dr. David Carden’s orthodontics practice has served the beaches community.  On October 18, Dr. Shreena Patel will take over the practice and rename it to better reflect the community she will serve.  While Dr. Carden will stay with the practice in a limited role, the new name, Patel & Carden Beaches Orthodontics will reflect a change in ownership and a renewed commitment to the beaches community.

To celebrate the change, the newly renovated office and Dr. Carden’s 30-plus years of service, Dr. Patel is hosting a private grand opening event on October 18 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  At approximately 7:00 PM, Dr. Patel and other guests will pay a brief tribute to Dr. Carden, providing brief remarks thanking him for his service and presenting him with a few surprise gifts.  Invited to the event the leaders from each of the beaches communities, including Jacksonville Beach Mayor Fland Sharp, Atlantic Beach Mayor Mike Borno, Neptune Beach Mayor Harriet Pruett and the City Commissioners from each as well as those from St. Johns County.

A Jacksonville native, Dr. Shreena Patel currently resides in Jacksonville Beach.  She is a graduate of The Bolles School and the University of Florida, where also received her DMD and her Masters of Science in Orthodontics.  She has been practicing orthodontics in the market since 2008.  She bought Dr. Carden’s practice in August if 2011 and the two have worked closely together.  Dr. Carden will be continue seeing patients on a limited basis, but the practice is now under full management of Dr. Patel.  Recognizing the unique atmosphere of a long-established practice, the staff will remain in place.  In September, Dr. Patel invested in renovating the office, creating what her patients have called a “really cool bech vibe” that aligns with Dr. Patel’s vision for her new practice going forward.

Said Dr. Patel, “My goal is to truly be involved with the fabric of this community.  Our patients are the people who make this community happen – children and adults — and we want to be deeply involved with the things that are important to them.”  Dr. Patel continued, “We have invested in renovating the office to make it feel like our community, and we have invested in the technology to

improve the services we offer our patients, and we have kept the wonderful staff Dr. Carden has trained.  We have moms, dads and kids that have gotten to know our staff over the course of 30 years.  We’re part of each other’s families and we want to celebrate that.  We have a new name that reflects our community and we are going to be here for a long time.”

As part of her investment in the community, Dr. Patel has committed to sponsoring local programs.  Already the practice has committed resources to Fletcher High and Middles Schools, Ocean Palms Elementary, Ponte Vedra High School as well as several area sports and recreational groups.  They are currently seeking out other opportunities with which to align.

Added Dr. Patel, “This event we are hosting really has two purposes: the first is to demonstrate our commitment to the community by showing off our new office environment and hosting our friends and family, and the other is to truly recognize Dr. Carden for his 30 years of helping people improve their own lives with a brighter, healthier smile.  At the end of the day, that is why I am an orthodontist – because I truly believe that what we do not only provides for better health and appearance, but builds self-esteem confidence and can provide our patients with a better life because of it.”
