8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

September 10, 2012, marked the 8th anniversary of the annual John L. Coleman Memorial Charity Golf Tournament founded by the CSX Retiree AssociationTaylor Residences, a non-profit elderly care facility for low to moderate income seniors, is the beneficiary of the event’s proceeds.  This year’s event, held on the beautiful grounds of the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club, was sponsored by forty-six area corporations including Baptist Health, Brooks Rehab, Health Care Services, Barber & Assoc. Atkins Elec and many more. The tournament offered a host of hole in one prizes ranging from a Cadillac XTS, Ford F-150(Which was won by one of our golfers, Rodney Mathis), Ford Fiesta and a $7,000 cruise for two donated by Claude Nolan Cadillac, Mike Shad Ford at the Avenues, and Cruise one respectively.

Over 200 guests and sponsors participated in this annual event with proceeds totaling more than $49,000 in cash, and another $34,500. in in-kind contributions for a total of over $83,500.00.  Taylor Residences will use these funds for its Continuing the Mission Campaign, a fund designated to raise funds for residents in need.
