Beaver Street Enterprise Center to celebrate 9 years of growth with luncheon

North Florida’s nationally acclaimed business incubator, Beaver Street Enterprise Center (BSEC) will recognize community partners, small business champions, and dedicated volunteer mentors who have nurtured its successful growth at its 9th Anniversary & Awards Luncheon Celebration on Aug. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 pm.

“How I got here from there … Lessons from the Journey” is this year’s theme, and Keynote Speaker, Alkina Daniels, will share the story of his own dramatic journey from decorated Navy sailor to business tycoon and philanthropist. Owner of nine Domino’s Pizza restaurants in Georgia, with the goal of owning 20 Domino’s stores throughout southern Georgia and northern Florida within the next five years, Daniels is passionate about business and charitable giving.

He has started a local program called “Feed a Family a Day,” where each of his stores selects a family to receive a meal. After 20 years in the U.S. Navy, Daniels decided to donate his entire military pension to cancer research in honor of his late father, Alkina Daniels. A man who truly believes in giving back and actively backs up his beliefs with action, Daniels is eager to share his success story with guests and core-city entrepreneurs at Beaver Street Enterprise Center.

Daniels added that he will read a Resolution to the audience, encouraging them to put in the time, effort and work it takes to build a business, with the assurance that their work will take them to a place of reward. He also plans to reward one member of the audience with a surprise blessing.
