Community leaders to meet with global companies, market Jax region at upcoming international air show

A delegation of Jacksonville civic and business leaders will utilize the 2012 Farnborough International Air Show in England to engage directly with more than 12 global aviation and aerospace companies, as well as many United Kingdom-based companies, to pitch these multi-national organizations on establishing operations in Northeast Florida.

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown, JAX Chamber Chair Tom Van Berkel and Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Steve Grossman will lead this economic development initiative.

The Farnborough Air Show, which will be held July 9-15 at an airfield outside of London, is the second largest air show in the world and brings together virtually every major aviation parts and aircraft manufacturer and supplier in the world. With Cecil Airport as the primary target for development, the Jacksonville delegation will meet with many of the companies represented at the event to develop job growth opportunities for Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
