Mayor Brown makes key appointments

Mayor Alvin Brown made three key appointments to the City of Jacksonville team.

Angela Spears has been elevated to the role of Special Assistant to the Mayor for Community Engagement. In that role, Spears will assist Mayor Brown in his efforts to engage citizens throughout Jacksonville on key community priorities. In July 2011, Spears was appointed as the Mayor’s Deputy Director of Communications.

David DeCamp will serve as Communications Director. Prior to this position, DeCamp was a reporter for the Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he covered politics and local government; a reporter at the Florida Times-Union, where he served as a City Hall reporter and covered national, state, and local politics; and has been a local and state government and politics reporter with the Tampa Bay Times, formerly known as the St. Petersburg Times.

Jim Robinson will serve as the City’s Director of Public Works. He has more than three decades of experience in engineering and management that trace back to his service to the nation as a captain and traffic engineer for the U.S. Army in the mid-1970s.
