SBE Council offers 2012 preview webcast

The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) is hosting its Growth Without Barriers webcast titled A Preview of 2012: Policy, the Economy and Key Trends on Dec. 15 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.

Please join SBE Council President & CEO Karen Kerrigan, and Andrew Sherman, partner, JonesDay, for this complimentary webcast that will focus on what’s ahead for 2012, including policies and trends that may impact your business and the economy. Here is your webcast link.

Sherman will spend some time discussing the strategic role and importance of intangible assets, and he and Kerrigan will jointly address:

•Access to affordable capital and the volatility of the markets

•Strategies for dealing with the under-employment rate, which is suppressing productivity

•Opportunities in the global markets for 2012…beyond the BRIC

Kerrigan will provide an update on what Congress is up to in terms of legislative priorities in early 2012. She will cover the status of “crowdfunding” legislation, and where taxes and tax policy are headed.

In addition, more than 20 bills addressing job creation, capital formation and regulatory relief/reform have passed the U.S. House – some with wide bipartisan margins. What are their prospects in the U.S. Senate?

Finally how do election-year politics play into the legislative agenda?
