Fleet Landing supports Beaches Kiwanis annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors

Fleet Landing assisted the Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville Beach with its annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors, which was held at the Bennie Furlong Beaches Senior Center in Jacksonville Beach.

Approximately 85 area seniors enjoyed a traditional home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner with all of the trimmings prepared by Fleet Landing Executive Chef Spencer Osborne and his experienced culinary staff. This is the ninth consecutive year Fleet Landing has donated and prepared the food for the annual event that provides a free, hot holiday meal to seniors.

“Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to give back to the senior citizens that live in the area,” said Fleet Landing Executive Director Josh Ashby. “Fleet Landing’s charitable purpose includes supporting the seniors of our community that live beyond our campus. We are honored to provide a Thanksgiving celebration for those living at the beach to enjoy.”

In addition to organizing the event, the Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville Beach provided deserts and beverages. Volunteers from The Law Office of Rod Schloth, Old Republic Title and the Fletcher High School Key Club helped serve the meal. Students from Mayport Middle School made the table centerpieces, and Mayport and Finnegan elementary schools students made the placemats.

The Kiwanis Club of the Jacksonville Beaches is involved in a variety of community service projects and conducts fundraising to support its activities.
