Florida’s ULI District Councils awarded $25,000 grant for state conference

Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida announces that Florida’s five ULI District Councils have been awarded a $25,000 grant to plan and execute a statewide conference in June 2012.

“The State We’re In” conference will be held June 7 and 8 at the Renaissance Vinoy in downtown St. Petersburg and will focus on building better public-private relationships at the regional level. The five ULI District Councils that received the grant include ULI North Florida, ULI Central Florida, ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean, ULI Southwest Florida and ULI Tampa Bay.

“We are thrilled to have been selected to receive this funding for our statewide conference and look forward to providing educational and business development programs that will help build thriving communities throughout Florida,” said Regency Center’s Bruce Johnson, chair of the ULI North Florida district council.

Through ULI’s 75th Anniversary Urban Innovation Fund program, a total of $500,000 in grants were awarded to local ULI projects worldwide that recognize or launch innovative public-private partnerships to advance the responsible use of land in building healthy, thriving communities over the next 75 years.
