City of Jacksonville celebrates 89th Annual Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic

The City of Jacksonville is proud to announce an exciting assortment of free entertainment and interactive games for football fans during the 89th Annual Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic weekend leading up to the big game on Saturday, Oct. 29.

“The Florida-Georgia game is a tradition in Jacksonville. I am excited to be a part of this event that honors players, coaches and fans from the University of Florida and the University of Georgia,” said Mayor Alvin Brown. “I want everyone to have a safe and fun time enjoying all that the city has to offer.”

This year the City of Jacksonville will host fan favorites such as the Touchdown Showdown area and Adams Street Experience, as well as the 16th Annual Ruth’s Chris Steak House Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Ceremony. The Touchdown Showdown will feature the largest free, interactive experience on game day including the big game shown on jumbo screens; activities and displays from Chevrolet, Texas Pete and Hass Avocados; Clear Channel radio stations, merchandise and more. There will be no alcohol sales in this area.

The City of Jacksonville will again offer six Sideline Safety Zone locations in the Sports Complex and throughout downtown Jacksonville. The Sideline Safety Zones will be open on Friday and Saturday and will offer assistance to fans who need a variety of services during their time in Jacksonville. Fans who request assistance at the zone for themselves or their friends will not be subject to legal action regarding alcohol issues.
