JWBC announces new advisory board

The Jacksonville Women’s Business Center (JWBC), a program of the JAX Chamber Foundation announced its new advisory board members.

Chair Candace Moody, vice president of communications, at First Coast Workforce Development, and Vice-Chair Chantelle Quick, director of audit services at Ennis Pellum & Associates, CPAs, will lead the 22-member board for the next two years.

The JWBC Advisory Board’s seven new members include:

  • · Doug Wilder, executive coach and owner of Wilder Business Success Inc.
  • · Janell Conner, owner of Public Design Unit
  • · Ann Sabbag, CEO of Health Designs Inc.
  • · Jo-Anne Yau, attorney at Yau Law
  • · Shannon Italia, director, Coggin College of Business Career Management Center at University of North Florida
  • · Carolyn Mathis, partner at Harbor View Advisors
  • · Lynette Self, president and owner at Rose of Sharon European Florist

“Our JWBC advisory board members represent a dynamic, passionate and diverse group of business owners and leaders,” said Moody, a JWBC board member since the program formed in 2004. “Our focus on entrepreneurial development is part of the region’s commitment to our economic future.”

According to Moody, the JWBC plans to increase its programming and support to entrepreneurs at every level.

“Women entrepreneurs are the fastest growing segment of business owners, and our clients tell us repeatedly our mentoring and coaching programs have played a key role in their success,” said JWBC Director Pat Blanchard. “Our talented and energetic board is leading the way for us to advance our mentoring, business education and networking programs, which will help strengthen our local economy.”
