Hogshead ‘fascinates’ at JAMA event

More than 140 marketers from Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando recently attended the Fascinate Me! event held by the Jacksonville chapter of the American Marketing Association (JAMA) at the famous Florida Theatre in Downtown Jacksonville. The successful day-long event included high-caliber leaders and marketing experts from across the country including keynote address by Sally Hogshead, talented author and brand innovation consultant for well-known companies such as Coca-Cola, Nike, Target and MINI Cooper.

“The event was a tremendous success, full of learning, engaging and connecting,” said JAMA President Amie Bolton. “We appreciate Sally Hogshead and our speakers who came from near and far as well as our outstanding sponsors who truly made the event possible.”

Themed around Sally Hogshead’s recent best-selling book, “Fascinate: Your 7 Triggers to Persuasion and Captivation,” the event included presentations by seven experts in marketing and leadership speaking to each of the seven triggers identified in the book. Speakers included Gary Chartrand, Acosta executive chairman; Nancy Hogshead, Olympic-gold medalist, author, professor and attorney; John Andrews, Collective Bias founder and managing partner; Michelle Chance-Sangthong, CS Ideas chief marketing officers; Mande White, founder of YourOnlineProfitExplosion.com and social media expert; Hollis Wilder, owner of Sweet! By Holly and two-time winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars; and Lara Herter, director of Emerald Coast Expansion and author.

Leading up to the event, attendees were invited to take Sally Hogshead’s F-score test to identify their primary and secondary triggers. Then, each attendee was given a name tag with his or her unique triggers and was able to learn throughout the day how to incorporate them to improve persuasion and captivation skills. The day concluded with a live session by Sally Hogshead using the seven triggers to resolve a problem described by an audience member.

Event sponsors were recognized throughout the day and included Retail Sense, platinum sponsor; Vystar Credit Union, Jaguars Foundation and 5ive Canons, diamond sponsors; Community Hospice of Northeast Florida and First Coast Focus, gold sponsors; Media Works, signage sponsor; Sight & Sound Productions, audio/video sponsor; Kennetic Productions, video production sponsor; Jacksonville Business Journal, media sponsor; Paramount Performance Marketing, program publishing; and Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront, speaker accommodations.
