McAvey to speak at ULI North Florida and Rotary Club luncheon Oct. 17

Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida and the Rotary Club of Jacksonville willco-host a luncheon on Oct. 17 featuring guest speaker Maureen McAvey of the Urban Land Institute, Washington, D.C. The program, “Moving Forward in this New Economy,” will be held at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Jacksonville from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and the cost to attend is $23.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Rotary Club of Jacksonville to host Maureen McAvey, who is recognized internationally for her expertise in the real estate development and land use industry,” said Bruce Johnson, ULI North Florida district council chair.

McAvey is the executive vice president for the Initiatives Group at ULI headquarters in Washington, D.C. She has held various positions in the organization since 2001 and was a member of the board of trustees of ULI from 1995 to 2001. Prior to joining ULI, McAvey was director of business development for Federal Realty Investment Trust, an owner and manager of retail developments and mixed-use developments and a publicly traded company listed on the NYSE. She has also served as the director of development for the City of St. Louis, a cabinet level position in the mayor’s office, and was executive director of the St. Louis Development Corporation.
