State Representative Ray selected as FCMA executive director

The board of the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) unanimously voted to select Northeast Florida State Representative Lake Ray to replace Lad Daniels as executive director of the association.

Ray, who was chosen from 14 candidates, will begin his new position effective Oct. 1. The FCMA Board made their selection based on Ray’s strategic vision for the association; his experience as a business owner; and his knowledge of the political process both on the municipal and state levels.

Ray served on the Jacksonville City Council for eight years and is beginning his fourth year in the Florida State Legislature. He will continue his duties in the legislature and he recently sold his business, freeing up his time for this new venture.

“Our executive committee was very impressed with Lake’s ideas and thoughts regarding the enhancement of the manufacturing industry’s role in the community in light of today’s economy,” said Ron Avery, tri-chair for FCMA. “The board’s selection process worked extremely well in identifying a person who I believe is perfect to take FCMA to the next level.”

The board selection process was lead by the association’s tri-chairman, Avery of The Ronco Group, Mike Templeton of Renessenz and Michael Corrigan of Nu-Trend Plastics.

Ray will oversee the operations of the association and provide leadership in the advancement and advocacy of the manufacturing industry in Northeast Florida and in the state.
