NAIOP hosts annual golf invitational Oct. 3

NAIOP of Northeast Florida, the region’s commercial real estate authority and trade association, will host its 2011 Golf Invitational on Monday, Oct. 3, at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club with a noon shot-gun start. The annual tournament, presented by Midtown Centre, brings together the area’s brokers and commercial real estate professionals for a competitive day of golfing, drawings and good will.

“We have incorporated new competitions and prizes this year that are sure to make this one of our best tournaments yet,” said Erika Bjork, 2011 Golf Tournament committee chair for NAIOP of Northeast Florida and broker with Colliers International. “We anticipate a lot of interest in this year’s tournament, which could possibly be a sell-out. We already have more than 20 teams signed up and most of our sponsorships sold.”

The tournament includes a day of golf, games and prizes, as well as a cart-side buffet and awards dinner celebration. Players will enjoy long-drive contests, the McCurdy-Walden Tee It Up Contest and on-course refreshments. Awards will be given to the Two Low Gross and Two Low Net foursomes. The coveted Brokers Cup will be awarded to the First Place Low New Broker foursome.

Qualifying broker teams participating in the Brokers Cup Challenge must include two or more players from the same brokerage firm, together with one or more principal or associate members, to complete a foursome and qualify. Long Drive Champion and North Florida resident, Landon Gentry, will host the NAIOP/Liberty Property Trust Charity Long Drive to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Ranked fifth in the world of competitive long drives, Gentry will drive the ball on Par 5 with a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Early-bird registration for the tournament ends Aug. 31. Register before the deadline and entry is $200 for an individual and guest, $750 for a broker’s cup foursome, and $800 for a foursome. After Aug. 31, entry is $225 for an individual and guest, $850 for a broker’s cup foursome, and $900 for a foursome.

A dinner-only ticket is $25 and guests can preorder a SuperTicket, which includes raffle tickets, putting contests and more, for $25 per person. To register, visit www.naiopnefl.com or call Carmel Buchanan at 904-730-8053. To learn more, email naiopnefl@comcast.net.
