Kerrigan named “2011 Small Business Influencer Champion”

Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) President & CEO Karen Kerrigan has been named a top “2011 Small Business Influencer.” The list of influencers was released by a panel of judges on August 24. The project is hosted by Small Business Trends and Small Business Technology, and sponsored by Blackberry, Infusionsoft and Sage.

“What an honor to be recognized, and with an outstanding group of individuals, companies and organizations that collectively support small business owners and entrepreneurs. It is such a privilege to represent the hard-working business owners of America. These heroes are holding our economy together despite extraordinary challenges. They continue to risk so much to keep their doors open,” said Kerrigan.

The recognition is bestowed upon “a person, company or other organization that has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the North American small business market.”

Some of the companies and individuals named as “Champion” influencers include: Wall Street Journal, Barbara Weltman (Big Ideas for Small Business), Babson College, Laurel Delaney (Founder, GlobeTrade), Black Enterprise, Constant Contact, Intuit, Hoover’s, Robert Levin (Publisher, NY Enterprise Report), UPS, SCORE, Microsoft, and the New York Times among others.

All “2011 Small Business Influencers” will be honored at an event in New York City on Sept. 13. To learn more about the award, visit http://influencers.smallbiztrends.com/news/champions. For more information, visit www.sbecouncil.org.
