Community First launches $84 million auto loan initiative

Community First Credit Union of Florida announced today its new $84 millionauto loan initiative, designed to help Jacksonville-area families purchase new or used vehicles at competitive loan rates, giving a needed boost to the local economy. Families who take advantage of the program now will also receive a free AAA membership with each new loan.

“This program is about investing in our members, who will then invest in the Jacksonville community,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO, Community First Credit Union. “Families are ready to move from the current economy into the future economy where businesses are growing, families are more secure and our community at large feels the benefits.”

The auto loan initiative will make $84 million available to Community First Credit Union members for loans on new or used vehicles at the same interest rate. A potential influx of $84 million into the local community could have significant impact, added Hirabayashi. “Our hope is that people are motivated to take advantage of this program as soon as they learn about it so that we can feel the collective benefit of our investment.”

Community First Credit Union is also launching a website and social media campaign to support the program and to hear stories from their members about why they need a new car. People can submit their stories at www.facebook.com/communityfirstcreditunion.
