Smith Hulsey & Busey hires real estate lawyer

Jacksonville law firm Smith Hulsey & Busey has hired Raymond M. O’Steen Jr., a real estate lawyer with more than a decade of legal experience. O’Steen began his legal career with Smith Hulsey & Busey in 2001 and spent seven years practicing real estate law with the firm prior to holding in-house counsel positions.

O’Steen rejoins Smith Hulsey & Busey’s real estate practice, where he will focus on advising banks and other creditors concerning various lending matters, including loan originations, loan sales, debt restructuring and workout transactions, foreclosures and sales of foreclosed property. He will work with firm shareholder Harry M. Wilson III, chair of the firm’s real estate department.

Most recently O’Steen served as assistant vice president and claims counsel for Fidelity National Financial. Prior to that, he held a senior in-house counsel position at PGA Tour.
