SBDC at UNF recognized for excellence

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of North Florida took home a number of awards for performance excellence from the June 22 annual meeting of the Florida SBDC Network. Performance Excellence Awards were presented during statewide meeting in Melbourne, Florida, by FSBDCN State Director Jerry Cartwright.

SBDC at UNF employees and volunteers won the following recognitions:

• Regional Resource Partner of the Year Jacksonville Area Legal Aide for the Prisoner Re-entry Program.  This award identifies the regional resource partner who has made the biggest contribution to the advancement of entrepreneurialism in the area in partnership with the SBDC.

• Regional Volunteer of the Year — Jessica Evans of Regions Bank. This award recognizes regional volunteers for outstanding contributions, for their advocacy, program development and/or special projects, presentation of SBDC workshops and client counseling.

• Regional Certified Business Analyst (CBA) — Lisa Haggerty, Procurement Technical Assistance Center Director.  The award recognizes CBAs for their excellence with resource utilization, client impact and special projects.

• Regional Employee of the Year — Mike Orlito, Certified Business Analyst.  The award recognizes employees for making the greatest contribution to SBDC operations.

• 30 Years of Service Award — Janice Donaldson, Regional Director.
