SCORE contest opens

SCORE, mentors to America’s small business, is pleased to partner with American Airlines to award deserving small businesses through the “Flights. Camera. Action” promotional campaign.  The contest comes on the heels of a recent American Airlines survey of small and medium business employees, indicating an anticipated increase in corporate business travel in the next 12 to 18 months and that face-to-face meetings requiring airline travel are crucial to the success of their business.

American joined forces with SCORE to implement this program designed to give business owners a chance to share their story and win airline tickets in-flight video and print exposure on American Airline flights, Admirals Club lounge visibility, and more. “Small business owners are always looking for better ways to expand their business with limited resources. Thanks to American Airlines, small businesses now have the opportunity to win a chance to travel and have those face-to-face conversations that lead to growth for their business,” says SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. “We are delighted with American Airlines commitment and great contribution small business owners, who are the backbone of our economy.”

Small business owners are encouraged to enter the contest by going to the Flights. Camera. Action. contest site at www.aa.com/flightscameraaction. Once there, they may upload a 30 second to 1 minute video explaining their business travel needs and how more business travel could benefit their company.

Companies may enter from now through July 15, 2011.  The 50 best videos will be posted on the website for public voting starting on August 1, 2011. These finalists will receive up to five domestic round-trip Plan AAhead Award coach tickets via 10,000 Business ExtrAA points.  From August 1 through August 26, 2011 the public will vote to determine the five finalists from among these 50 videos who will each receive an additional 10,000 Business ExtrAA points and exposure to American Airlines customers on AA.com/business

The Grand Prize winner will receive an additional 80,000 Business ExtrAA points which equals up to 50  American Airlines tickets* to support them in growing their business. Their company will be featured in a number of American Airlines media channels, including an inflight video testimonial, American Way magazine, American Airlines Nexos magazine, banners on AA.com, and more.  Finalists will be recognized at the 2011 SCORE Awards in Washington DC.
