PTAC to offer women-owned business seminar

The Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at the University of North Florida (UNF) will present a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program Seminar on May 26, 2011, from 9:00 until 11:30 am at the UNF University Center.  In this seminar, participants will learn how certify for the WOSB Federal Contract Program, the current status of the program with the SBA, and the next step for procuring agencies.  The cost to attend is $40 per person

The Small Business Administration started the WOSB Federal Contract Program in February 2011. It’s goal is to provide greater access to federal contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) and economically-disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). The program allows contracting officers, for the first time, to set aside specific contracts for certified WOSBs and EDWOSBs and will help federal agencies achieve the existing statutory goal of five percent of federal contracting dollars being awarded to WOSBs.
