The Jacksonville Women’s Business Center (JWBC) welcomes entrepreneurs Pam Gibson and Suzi Lemen of Idea Staffing and Nina Sickler of LandMark Engineering, Inc. to the Jacksonville Athena PowerLink mentoring program.  Jacksonville is one of only 27 cities nationwide licensed to host the year-long mentoring program that assists women-owned businesses that are beyond the initial start-up phase, meet strict revenue criteria and have been operating for a minimum of two years.

Pam Gibson

“The collective mentorship approach of the Athena PowerLink program will provide Pam, Suzi, and Nina with a unique opportunity to receive guidance from a broad range of professionals to help take their respective companies to the next level,” said Emily Magee, the Governing Body co-chair.  “We are excited to see the many positive changes and successes these two companies will have as a result of the ATHENA program.”

Idea Staffing, where Gibson serves as president and Lemen as owner, is a local company established in 2007 that provides consultative staffing services, including temporary, temporary-to-hire and direct placement in the areas of human resources, accounting, banking and finance, and high-end clerical support.  As part of the Athena PowerLink program, Gibson and Lemen will work with the following business advisors over the next year:

  • Joe Grass, Wells Fargo
  • Michael Kirwan, Foley & Lardner
  • Carolyn Mathis, Harbor View Advisors
  • George Robbins, Vistage
  • Ellis Rowe, retired, Mars Corporation
  • Neil Von Stein, LBA Certified Public Accountants
  • Robin Wahby, New York Life

Suzi Lemen

Sickler is the owner of LandMark Engineering, a local company that provides engineering and support services in the transportation arena, specializing in highway and bridge design.  The company was established in 2006 and currently has nine full-time and three part-time employees.  For the Athena PowerLink program, Sickler will work with an advisory panel comprised of the following members:

  • Paul Arrington, SBDC
  • Anna Brosche, Ennis Pellum & Associates
  • Gardner Davis, Foley & Lardner
  • Cathy Disbrow, Trane
  • Brian Gibson, Wells Fargo
  • Nancy Russell, human resources consultant
  • Jake Rutski, Enterprise Integration
  • Barbara Tolliver-Haskins, Executive Coaching Solutions

Nina Sickler

Gibson, Lemen, and Sickler were selected to participate in the Athena PowerLink program from a field of applicants by a governing body of volunteer community members.  All of the panelists they will be working with are seasoned business leaders who will share their expertise as personal advisors and help Gibson, Lemen and Sickler meet their goals and objectives.  The members for each of the advisory panels have agreed to serve as unpaid advisors for one year.  Members for both panels have been selected so they are uniquely qualified to address each company’s needs and support them in implementing best practices.
