February named ‘Manufacturing Month’

Working with the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) in elevating the awareness of the economic value of manufacturing on Florida’s FirstCoast, the Mayor of Jacksonville and the County Board of Commissioners of Baker, Clay, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties proclaimed February as Manufacturing Month.

February is when FCMA recognizes manufacturers located throughout Northeast Florida for their achievements in areas that include economic impact, business and operational efficiency, increasing employment, protecting the environment and contributing to the community’s welfare through the donation of volunteer time or funds.

The manufacturing industry represents over 1,500 manufacturing companies on the First Coast, supplying over 30,000 jobs generating nearly 15% of the total gross regional product. For each job directly created by manufacturing expenditures, an additional 1.7 jobs are created through indirect and induced impacts.

Each of the five counties Board of County Commissioners and Mayor John Peyton issued a written proclamation recognizing manufacturing and FCMA, who represents the manufacturing industry in Northeast Florida.

The First Coast Manufacturers Association is a non-profit trade association serving Northeast Florida. Additional media information on FCMA is available at
