WBO announces 2011 awards finalists

The Women Business Owners of North Florida (WBO, www.wbonfl.org) and the Professional Women’s Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce have announced the 2011 finalists for its Women in Business Awards. The winners of will be announced at its 25th annual awards luncheon on March 21 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.

Sponsored by the Women Business Owners of North Florida, Jacksonville Business Journal, Professional Women’s Council, and WOKV, the Annual Women in Business Awards recognize and honor women who epitomize success in today’s business world.

Finalists for the 2011 Women in Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award:

• Cynthia Montello, The Montello Agency;

• Liz Grenamyer, Catering by Liz/Bottega di Bella Sera;

• Tamara Baker,  Baker Kline Engineering;

Finalists for the 2011 Women in Business Franchisee of the Year Award:

• Stacie Rine, Massage Heights;

• Ann Meyer, Travelhost of Jacksonville & the First Coast;

• Grace Huxtable-Mount, The Learning Experience.

Finalists for the 2011 Women in Business Corporate Leader Award:

• Jessica Evans, Regions Bank;

Finalists for the 2011 Women in Business Pioneer Award:

Keynote speaker for the awards banquet will be Delores P. Kesler, chairperson of PSS World Medical. Kesler is considered one of the most significant women entrepreneurs in the history of Jacksonville. She founded AccuStaff in 1978, which later merged with two other companies to become Modis.  In retirement, she is still active in the business community as a board member for companies including the St. Joe Company, but she is also engaged in philanthropic pursuits with her own DPK Foundation, and is active with the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans.

The awards event is set for Monday, Mar. 21, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Hyatt Regency Riverfront. A trade show will run on the same day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $40 each, in advance, or $50 at the door. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $400.
