Ponte Vedra library get new monument sign

Construction is expected to begin this month on a new monument sign at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library designed by Fisher KoppenhaferArchitecture and Interior Design.  The firm is donating a portion of its design services to the organization.

“Libraries are the heart and soul of a community and play an important role in helping young children develop reading skills,” said Mike Koppenhafer, AIA and president of Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design.  “I have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach for nearly 20 years and I am honored to be part of this project.”

The new sign will bring a fresh look and increased visibility for the branch library, which is also home to Seymour’s Bookstore.  Designed to blend with the existing library building, the new sign will display a timber look and additional landscaping around the sign.

The Friends of the Library-Ponte Vedra Beach, a community support group for the Ponte Vedra Beach branch library, is funding the enhancement project.  The group operates Seymour’s Bookstore, a volunteer bookstore within the library that sells used and donated books.  Fisher Koppenhafer designed Seymour’s Bookstore’s renovation and expansion in the fall of 2009.

Completion of the new monument sign is anticipated in March.  The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library is located at 101 Library Blvd. in Ponte Vedra Beach and is a division of the St. Johns County Public Library System.  More information is available at
