CAPS designation awarded to Sisler Johnston

Builders (NAHB) Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation.

The CAPS designation establishes Sisler Johnston as a professional with experience and knowledge specific to home and commercial modifications for aging-in-place.  CAPS provides the skills and knowledge to help retirees and older adults age-in-place independently and comfortably in their homes

The CAPS curriculum incorporates a variety of information tailored to aging-in-place home modifications, including background on the aging-in-place demographic, communication techniques, common aging-in-place remodeling projects, common barriers and solutions, codes and standards, product ideas and resources, marketing and business management.

CAPS program graduates are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and participating in community service projects.  CAPS classes are offered through local and state home building associations and at national trade shows.  More information about the CAPS program is available online at
