Local law firm adds 3 trial attorneys

Jacksonville law firm Smith Hulsey & Busey (www.smithhulsey.com) has hired a sixth-year associate lawyer, Whitney K. McGuire, and two new first-year associates, Allison L. McElhaney and Kevin Wagner, in its complex commercial litigation practice. The three new associates bring the firm to more than 50 attorneys.

Whitney McGuire

McGuire’s complex commercial litigation experience includes disputes involving accounting and engineering professional negligence, environmental permitting and contamination, patents, contracts and business torts. She will work with firm shareholder Michael E. Demont. McGuire has six years of litigation experience from working in corporate law firms in Florida and California. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Allison McElhaney

 Wedekind, III. McElhaney received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law and her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami. McElhaney is an alumnae of Smith Hulsey & Busey’s summer associate program.

Kvein Wagner

Wagner will work in complex commercial litigation with firm shareholder James A. Bolling. Wagner completed his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law. He graduated cum laude from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a concentration in finance.
