SBDC offers winter workshops

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the University of North Florida is offering a number of workshops for small business owners during January and February 2011.

To register or for more information on any of the following workshops call 904-620-2476 or log on to www.sbdc.unf.edu. All workshops are at the UNF University Center, unless otherwise noted.

• How to Start Up Your Own Business. Jan. 20, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Feb. 24, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $40 in advance or $50 daya of workshop.

• Social Media Marketing Strategy Made Simple. Jan. 18, 10 a.m. to noon. Cost: Free.

• Getting Started With Constant Contact. Jan. 18, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: Free.

• Tax Facts. Jan. 25, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $40 in advance, $50 day of workshop.

• QuickBooks for Nonprofits. Jan. 27, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $60.

• QuickBooks for Small Business Owners. Feb. 3, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $60.

• Where’s the Money?  And How Do I Get It? Feb. 8, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $40 in advance or $50 day of workshop.

• Nonprofit Startup 101. Feb. 15, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $25.

The Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) located at SBDC will also offer several programs dealing with doing business with the government. Sessions are offered at the University Center, unless noted otherwise.

• Government Contracting 101. Jan. 19, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost: $30.

• How to Register in CCR. Jan. 21, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cost: $40.

• Marketing to Government. Feb. 16, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cost: $40.

• GSA – Is it Right for You? Feb. 23, 9 a.m. to 11:30 .m. Cost: $40.
