Local expert to bolster trade with Brazil

A local Brazilian business development expert will work to bolster international business development for Jacksonville in Brazil.

Alan Vinson

The Jacksonville Sister Cities Association named Alan Vinson, principal of Brazil Business Solutions and J.T. Vinson Clothiers, vice president of its Curitiba Brazil Committee. In April 2009, Curitiba became Jacksonville’s seventh sister city largely because of partnerships between the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association, the Brazil-Jacksonville Alliance of Northeast Florida and the Jacksonville Port Authority.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the city and I am ready to use my years of advertising and business expertise to elevate Jacksonville and Curitiba’s profile in the international arena,” Vinson said. “In the coming year, we’ll be planning a number of business, educational and cultural events between Jacksonville and our newest sister city.”

Vinson has worked and lived in Brazil and holds dual citizenship between the U.S. and Brazil, South America’s largest economic power. Fluent in both English and Portuguese, the national language of Brazil, Vinson holds a bachelor’s of science degree in advertising from the University of Florida. He is also founder of the J.T. Vinson Co.(, a custom clothier.
