SBDC offers international trade workshop series

The Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (SBDC at UNF) is offering a series of workshops leading to a certificate in international trade. The workshops are aimed toward business owners who are new to international exporting as well as growth-oriented businesses that want a better understanding of the opportunities and resources that are available to them.

Attendees will learn about available resources when pursuing exporting opportunities, get the “nuts and bolts” information about export transactions, receive the Global Entrepreneur text, learn how to prepare for the “Certified Business Global Professional” exam and designation offered through the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators, and network with other professionals involved in international trade.

The six week program will be on Thursdays, starting Jan. 20, 2011, and running through Feb. 24. Classes will be from 8 a.m. to noon, with a continental breakfast included. All classes will be at the UNF University Center, 12000 Alumni Dr., Jacksonville, although the last session will be at JaxPort, for a tour of the port and graduation.
