3 JAX experts to present at ‘green’ conference

Three Jacksonville green building and design experts — Lisa Sheppard of the City of Jacksonville’s Planning and Development Department, Mary Tappouni of Breaking Ground Contracting, and Corie Baker of JSA Architects — will present a program on the “Sustainable Restoration of Historic Homes” at the Residential Summit of the Greenbuild 2010 International Conference & Expo in Chicago Nov. 17-19. Greenbuild is the world’s largest green building conference, hosted annually by the U.S. Green Building Council. The gathering provides an unrivaled opportunity to learn about the latest innovations, explore new products and exchange ideas with other professionals.

The “Sustainable Restoration of Historic Homes” program will focus on the opportunities and challenges inherent in restoring historic homes. The program is expected to draw designers, contractors, government officials with historic neighborhoods in their cities, housing authorities, developers, preservationists, and homeowners. Tappouni, Sheppard and Baker will present the program from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18.
