Local gym expands pole fitness program

inShape Ladies Fitness, a full-service women’s fitness facility, 9425-2 Baymeadows Road, has added five new fitness poles to its existing four poles. The additions are the chrome spinning type, which give exercisers at inShape another option to the existing static or non-spinning poles.

Pole fitness, which is a vertical form of gymnastics, strengthens the upper body while tightening the abdominal muscles and sculpting the legs. Pole dancing or pole aerobics, which has long been associated with the adult entertainment industry, is now a widely accepted form of exercise.

inShape offers pole fitness classes Monday through Thursday evenings starting at 7:00 pm for ladies only. “Most of the ladies who participate in the pole fitness classes are tired of your traditional forms of exercise and want something a little different,” said Clara LeBlanc of inShape Ladies Fitness. “We have mothers, students, executives, and ladies from all walks of life that take the classes. You don’t realize what a great workout it is until you try it!”

inShape Ladies Fitness was founded in 2006 and is a full service gym owned and operated by Clara LeBlanc and Sandra Salem.
