“It is exciting to see this project move forward,” said Mike Koppenhafer, AIA and president of Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design.  “The renovations are vital to maintaining the facilities and will infuse new life into this active community center.”

Koppenhafer is the architect and interior designer for the Augusta Savage Community Arts and Cultural Center.  Situated on a 4.5-acre site, the center includes five buildings encompassing approximately 40,000 square feet.  The renovations include new roofs to repair the buildings’ extensive leaks and interior improvements to include electrical repairs, upgrading the day care center, relocating the food pantry and adding air conditioning to the medical clinic.

Completion of the first phase of the Augusta Savage Cultural and Community Arts Center is anticipated in early 2011.
