JAX Senior Games to be Oct. 4-9

Jacksonville residents aged 50 years and older are invited to register for the Forever Fit 50 & Beyond: 2010 Jacksonville Senior Games. The games will be held Oct. 4 – 9 at Cecil Field & Vicinity Recreation Complex (13531 Lake Newman Drive and 13611 Normandy Boulevard) and other locations throughout the city.

Senior participants may enter in any of the events, including bowling, swimming, track and field, cycling, croquet, golf, road race/walk, tennis, and basketball and softball (team events). Participants will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals within their age groups.

To register, seniors must return the registration form along with their registration fee.  Registration costs $15 for the first event and $5 for each additional event. Additional fees are charged for golf, bowling, basketball, and softball.

Forever Fit 50 & Beyond: 2010 Jacksonville Senior Games are produced by the City of Jacksonville and endorsed by the Mayor’s Council on Fitness and Well Being.  Sponsors include Humana and Brookdale Senior Living.
