Realty company to serve as technology test market

Prudential Network Realty has revealed that it will serve as a test market for new virtual reality technology to help in home sales.

“We are always looking for technology solutions that will enhance the customer experience and bring new opportunities to our team,” said Prudential Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda H. Sherrer.  “This is an amazing opportunity for the professionals at Prudential Network Realty to collaborate and be among the first to provide input on these new innovative real estate tools.”

The new technology, called the Prudential Real Estate Collaborative Innovation Partnership (PRECIP), will combine the real-world knowledge and expertise of brokers and sales professionals with leaders in immersive world technologies, web 2.0 applications, mobile technologies and communications.  The company is working with Immersive Design Studio to develop next-generation virtual home tours that are as emotionally compelling.  The Montreal-based virtual world developer has been on the forefront of extending video-game technology beyond its traditional use.

Plans call for a life-size virtual home tour that will enable real estate professionals and customers located anywhere in the world to come together in the virtual home and exchange thoughts in real time.  Unlike a power point presentation or a video, it will allow participants to travel through the home as they wish and make changes if they desire.  For example, if they do not like the wall color, they will be able to change it with the click of a button.

“We are very excited to leverage the technologies other industries have and bring them to real estate,” said Prudential Network Realty Director of e-Commerce Maria Wilkes.  “Our company is always looking forward and on the leading edge of technology.  This new concept will enhance the customer experience and provide an innovative way to view homes online.”
