First Coast IABC to host best practices in crisis communication

The First Coast chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) will host a panel discuss on “Weathering the Storm: Crisis Communications Before, During, and After a Hurricane.” The luncheon meeting will take place at 111 Riverside Ave., Jacksonville, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Aug. 18.

Panel members will share their crisis communications best practices for before, during, and after a hurricane or major storm. Debbie Jones, communications administrator for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, will moderate the panel of communications and security professionals, comprised of Gary Sease, corporate communications director for CSX Corporation;  Misty Skipper, spokesperson for the City of Jacksonville, Office of the Mayor; and Charles White, director of security for JAXPORT.

The event will be sponsored by JAXPORT and lunch will be catered by Chick-fil-A at Marsh Landing Parkway. As well, one lucky attendee will win a NOAA National Weather Service weather radio.
