SBDC offers workshops in July and August

The Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (SBDC at UNF) will be offering asbdc number of workshops in July and August.  To register or for more information on any of the following workshops call 904-620-2476 or log on to www.sbdc.unf.edu.

The following will be offered at the UNF University Center, 12000 Alumni Drive, 620-2476

• How to S-T-A-R-T-U-P Your Own Business. July 27, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Aug. 27, 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: $40 in advance; $50 day of workshop.

• Major Gift Fundraising: First Step to Success. July 26, 9 a.m. to noon. Cost $50. A Feasibility and Planning Study provides you with the data and tools you need to raise funds by exploring both internal and external issues, including organizational capacity and capabilities, public perception, and sources and levels of financial support.  This workshop will teach you what questions to ask, who to ask, and how to analyze the results. 

• Tax Facts. Aug. 3, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $40 in advance; $50 day of workshop. Would you like to learn how to make taxes a little more manageable for your business?  This workshop might be for you by learning the tax implications of your business structure, what is and is not deductible, electronic filing, payroll taxes, and more.  This workshop is co-sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.

• Where’s the Money? How Do I Get It? Aug. 31, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $40 in advance; $50 day of workshop. Get the lowdown on financing options available to small businesses. Determine how much cash you need, find out where to get the cash you require, learn how the SBA guaranteed loan program works, and understand what a bank looks at when evaluating your loan package. This workshop will reveal the top 10 red flags that might ultimately determine whether or not you receive the funding you need.
