Fisher Koppenhafer designs new Metro Diner

Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design is designing the Metro Diner restaurant’smetro diner logo,small new location in the Mandarin/Julington Creek area.  The firm is serving as the architect for the project.

 “Our goal is to recreate the cozy and historic feel of the popular restaurant’s original San Marco location in this new setting,” said Mike Koppenhafer, AIA and president of Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design.  “The Metro Diner has a great following and will be an outstanding addition to the Shops at Julington Creek.”

Julian LeCraw & Company hired the firm to design the new 2,700-square-foot restaurant at the Shops at Julington Creek, a new shopping center anchored by a Fresh Market grocery store.  Similar to the San Marco location on Hendricks Avenue, the new Metro Diner in Mandarin/Julington Creek will be designed with booths, pendant lighting, and comfortable patio seating.  Construction is scheduled to begin this summer. 

Located at the intersection of San Jose Boulevard and Julington Creek Road, the Shops at Julington Creek is a contemporary, one-story 41,000-square-foot retail center with a 21,000-square-foot The Fresh Market grocery store.  The shopping center was also designed by Fisher Koppenhafer Architecture and Interior Design.
