Episcopal H.S. names Burdette Ketchum partner ‘Alumnus of the Year’

 (, a Jacksonville-based marketing consulting and communications firm, its 2010 “Alumnus of the Year.” The award is presented annually to an alumnus who has consistently provided exemplary service to Episcopal High School, enhancing the mission, success, stature and well-being of the school.

Ketchum, a 1984 graduate and former student body president, was recognized for his work and service to the school throughout the past 15 years.

Ketchum, a marketing professional with more than two decades of experience, has put his background to use in benefiting his alma mater. He was instrumental in marketing and fund raising efforts for two recent capital campaigns, including the Journey to Greatness campaign, which raised $17 million for the school. This year, Ketchum loaned his marketing acumen for the ongoing Building Classroom Excellence capital campaign, which aims to raise $4 million for new classroom facilities. From 2005 to 2007, Ketchum chaired the Buildings & Ground Committee of the Board of Trustees, which set the vision for the classroom halls currently being constructed. He assists annually in overall school marketing, as well as relationship-building with area elementary schools and families who have relocated to the North Florida area.

Ketchum is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with an MBA in marketing, and Vanderbilt University, with a bachelor’s degree in English.
