$27K raised for Monique Burr Foundation

“A Night in the Village” at Roy’s Restaurant raised $27,500 for the Monique Burr Foundation forMBF Logo Children. Hawaiian fusion cuisine by celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi, tropical drinks and live fire dancing set the scene at the Jacksonville Beach fund-raising event for the foundation and its child abuse prevention education programs. “We are forever grateful to all of those who came out to show their support for the foundation and their dedication to helping us provide child abuse prevention education throughout the state of Florida,” said Monique Burr Foundation Executive Director Lynn Layton. “Roy’s Restaurant, our generous sponsors and our partners in Third Street Village made this event possible and we thank them for their time and energy. All the money raised at this year’s event will help children in our community through our child abuse prevention education programs.” Other participants in the event were Bonefish Grill, Emly Benham, Focus Fitness, Leila’s, Max & Company, Miriam’s Fine Jewelry, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Mrs. Howard, Private Gallery, Rosenblum’s, Rosie True, and Starbucks. The stores featured extended hours for the event and offered food, drinks and shopping opportunities. The Steering Committee for “A Night in the Village” at Roy’s Restaurant included Maxine McBride, Lelia Duncan, Judy Bradshaw, Billie Jo Burr, Ellen Mills, and Brian Flynn. Sponsors for the event include GreenPointe Holdings LLC, HamptonGolf, Peterbrooke Chocolatier, North Florida Sales, Clockwork Marketing Services, PRI Productions, Southern Wine and Spirits, Champion Brands and Portable Air.
