ELM to help in day school expansion

Ervin Lovett Miller (ELM) is helping Riverside Presbyterian Day School and RiversideRPDS Watercolor.small Presbyterian Church in developing a campus improvement plan to support the church and school’s continued growth and expansion in Jacksonville’s historic Riverside neighborhood.

“This has been an exciting process in that we have brought together the constituents of the church and day school with differing points-of-view and helped lead them jointly through a well-conceived planning process for the development of their campus, both for the short term and for the future,” said Steve Lovett, partner of ELM. “In the near term, the plan will create tremendous outdoor play space for the school’s physical education program as well as greatly improve pedestrian circulation and vehicular flow for the campus, which are crucial issues to address for the church and school.”

The first phase of campus improvements will begin construction in early May and are expected to be complete for the start of the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. ELM’s design includes a new multipurpose children’s playfield and running track for physical education, lighted multi-purpose basketball court, an improved playground, and outdoor picnic areas. Additional elements of the plan will include new landscape along the site’s perimeter, comprehensive parking, circulation, and pedestrian improvements.

The campus improvements will take place during the church’s 100-year anniversary serving the Riverside community.
