Forum to teach how to acquire federal contracts

Small business leaders can learn the secrets of winning government contracts  at an upcoming conference May 26 atncma the Prime Osborn Convention Center. “Moving to the Next Level in Federal Contracting Forum” will be held concurrently with the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Business Expo 2010.

The forum, which will run from 8 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. costs $135 per person. The Business Expo, however, is free and open to the public. The forum is sponsored by the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Jacksonville chapter, the Small Business Development Center, Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC),  and the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will provide an opportunity to learn how to win government contracts. Among forum presenters are:

• Linda Oliver, director of small business programs, Department of Defense;

• Karen Hontz, SBA director of government contracting;

• Tracey Pinson, director of Army small business programs;

• Phyllis A. Grant, Lockheed Martin supplier diversity manager;

• The ‘Real Deal’ panel, comprised of a DoD representative along with others from industry and government.

The forum offers an opportunity to network and meet government contracting and industry officials. Participants can earn up to6.5 continuous learning points (0.65 CEUs).
